Greetings

Our newsletter is intended to serve as both a source of information and a word of thanks. Many of you have had key roles in the development of a first class organization which continues to pursue its mission of fostering and disseminating high quality research with global implications. Our volunteer base has been essential to our success over the past eleven years and continues to provide the support that is so crucial to our ongoing development. It is always a pleasure to see old friends and colleagues at each conference as it is to meet new friends and colleagues at every conference. We continue to add new names to our mailing list and encourage you to send the names and addresses of your friends and colleagues to us to add to the mailing list. We are sure there will be many new faces in Warsaw, Costa Rica, Las Vegas and Dublin in the coming year. The ABA owes its success to those of you who have always been willing to donate your time and efforts to the development of the conferences and the Journal of the Academy of Business Administration. Thanks again for your support.

JABA

The Journal of the Academy of Business Administration is published twice a year. The inclusion of the Journal in Cabell's Directory should increase submissions and allow us to eventually move to four issues per year. Each submission is blind reviewed and the acceptance rate for the past three issues has been 41%; many of the submissions have come from authors outside the USA. On another positive note, page charges have been eliminated and the Journal is being funded from conference registration fees. Each of you is encouraged to consider JABA as a potential outlet for your work.

• Global Trends Conference: San Jose, Costa Rica, December 18-23, 2002. Papers due August 21, 2002

Sammy G. Amin Teaching Award

Each year the ABA honors its founder with the presentation of the Sammy G. Amin Teaching Award. The award recognizes teaching excellence through an award process which is overseen by Dr. Robert Alexander. Volunteers

Every organization like the ABA succeeds because of its volunteer base. Each conference needs a program chair, track chairs, reviewers and session chairs in addition to the authors and scholars who are willing to share their research and other efforts with us through presentation of papers and special sessions. Please consider volunteering to fill some of these roles for an upcoming conference. Volunteer forms are available at every conference as well as on this website.
