Academic Advising and Support to our Students

Staying true to our Jesuit mission, this office approaches advising and mentoring through the lens of educating the whole person and inspiring students to develop themselves as men and women for others. Here, a team of professionals guides students as they discern their futures, considering their academics as well as their values, abilities, career goals, and leadership potential. Within the Division of Student Development, this team supports the academic and co-curricular needs of students at distinct developmental stages, focusing on:

  • Academic advising for students in all four years
  • Support to faculty in their integral roles as first-year and upper division advisors and mentors
  • A comprehensive Orientation program tailored to new first-year students, which begins at Summer Welcome and culminates in an extended four-day Fall Arrival
  • A distinctive Orientation geared to the needs of new transfer and less traditional students
  • Specialized advising for students who are exploring majors and for HEOP/AHANA and CSTEP students
  • Well-developed first-year academic advising in the major with meetings at critical milestones in the first year
  • Free tutoring and writing guidance during hours that match student needs so they can be the best students possible
  • Residential learning communities for first-year students and sophomores who 'live, learn and lead' together through shared course work and interests
  • Service learning opportunities that help to develop a life-long interest in civic engagement
  • Specialized advising for international students while at Le Moyne
  • A campus-wide early intervention system (EASE) for students who are academically at risk

Our Mission

We seek to help Le Moyne students succeed by providing them with comprehensive programs, services and support that will enable them to create meaningful connections and relationships within and outside the classroom to enhance their intellectual, social and personal development.
