Le Moyne College Student Awarded First Scholarship from Tau Sigma
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College student Amber MacDuffie has been awarded a scholarship by Tau Sigma, the national honor society for transfer students. The award was one of 33 student scholarships presented nationally to Tau Sigma members this year.posted on: 2/21/2012
Tau Sigma is an academic honor society designed specifically to recognize and promote the academic excellence and involvement of new transfer students. Students qualify in their first semester at their new institution by transferring in at least one full year of credits, carrying a full-time course load and achieving at least a 3.5 GPA in their first semester. The scholarships are awarded for involvement in service to the chapter, college and community.
MacDuffie, from Liverpool, N.Y., a senior majoring in business accounting, is the first Le Moyne student to be recognized with an award by Tau Sigma’s national headquarters, located at Auburn University, Auburn, Ala.
Le Moyne College’s application for creation of a chapter was approved by Tau Sigma in 2011. Induction of 41 Le Moyne charter Tau Sigma members took place last November.
