New Writers-in-Residence at Le Moyne Present Reading

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Linda Pennisi and Patrick Lawler, newly named writers-in-residence at Le Moyne College, will present a poetry and fiction reading on Wednesday, March 28, at 5:30 p.m. The reading will take place in the Reilley Room, located in Reilly Hall.

Linda Pennisi is the author of two poetry collections: “Seamless,” winner of the Perugia Press Intro Book Prize, and “Suddenly, Fruit,” winner of the 2005 Carolina Wren Press Poetry Series Book Award. She was the recipient of a Saltonstall Individual Artists Grant and her poems have appeared in literary journals such as McSweeny's, Hunger Mountain, Lyric Poetry Review and Runes.

Patrick Lawler is the author of six collections of poetry and fiction, including “A Drowning Man is Never Tall Enough,” “Underground” and “Rescuers of Skydivers Search Among the Clouds,” for which he won the Fiction Collective Two Ronald Sukenick/American Book Review Innovative Fiction Contest. In addition, Lawler has had poetry and fiction appear in over 75 journals, including American Letters & Commentary, American Poetry Review, The Iowa Review and Southern Humanities Review, among others.

The reading is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the creative writing program and the English department.
