David Lloyd Reads from New Poetry Collection at Le Moyne College
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … David Lloyd will read from his latest poetry collection, “Warriors,” at Le Moyne College on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 5:30 p.m. The reading will take place in the Reilley Room, located in Reilly Hall.
The historic and domestic subjects in “Warriors” are drawn from myth, history, popular culture, family, the animal world and the environment. In addressing public and private conflicts and transnational borders, "Warriors" uses an array of forms: the sestina, the parable, the lyric, the narrative, the poem sequence.
Lloyd is a professor of English and director of the creative writing program at Le Moyne. He holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University, a master’s degree in fine arts from the University of Vermont, a master’s degree in creative writing and fiction from Brown University and a doctorate from Brown University.
His anthology, “The Urgency of Identity: Contemporary English-language Poetry from Wales,” was published in 1994 by TriQuarterly Books/Northwestern University Press, and he publishes poetry, fiction, critical articles and interviews in journals and anthologies in the United States, Canada and Europe.
