Grammy Nominated Jazz Vocalist Jane Monheit to Perform at Le Moyne College to Open 2013-14 Music at Le Moyne Series

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … On Thursday, Sept. 12, at 7:30 p.m., Le Moyne College will open its 2013-14 Music at Le Moyne concert series with a gala opening night featuring an intimate evening of jazz with Grammy-nominated vocalist Jane Monheit. The performance will take place in the W. Carroll Coyne Center for the Performing Arts on the Le Moyne campus.

Monheit is an international recording artist who has performed at major concert halls, cabarets and jazz venues around the globe. She has released seven albums and two DVDs, including her most recent CD “The Heart of the Matter.” She appears on the soundtrack of the movie Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow singing “Over the Rainbow.” Monheit has also been a featured performer in the nationally televised Christmas at the White House, the Capitol Fourth of July Celebration, and The National Memorial Day Celebration. She lives in Rome, N.Y. with her husband, drummer Rick Montalbano Jr.

As part of the gala opening night, there will be a silent auction and champagne toast; proceeds will benefit the Le Moyne College music program. Gala tickets are $25 and reservations are suggested; for more information and to purchase tickets, call 315-445-4200 or go online.

Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 in the W. Carroll Coyne Center for the Performing Arts. The five time GRAMMY award winner, platinum recording artist, and Grand Ole Opry star Marty Stuart and his band bring their foot-stompin', tail-shakin', honky tonkin' music to the Jesuit Theater for a memorable and entertaining night!

“Soundscapes: The Music of Edward Ruchalski” at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 11, 2014, at Panasci Family Chapel, Le Moyne College. Join regional professional musicians as the perform chamber works composed by Le Moyne music faculty member, Edward Ruchalski . This engaging evening includes a premiere of a new work for choir composed for the Le Moyne College Chamber Singers and a performance of Ruchalski's most recent recording, Bell Song.

“Night Visions,” at 7:30 p.m. April 1, 2014, at Panasci Family Chapel, Le Moyne College. International award winning pianist Michael Landrum presents an informative evening of discussions and performance.
