Noted Jesuit Scholar Talk “Who Do People Say I Am?” The Many Faces of Ignatius Loyola"

On Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m., Le Moyne College will host "Who Do People Say I Am? The Many Faces of Ignatius Loyola," a talk by Rev. Tom McCoog, S.J., a Jesuit priest and archivist of the British Province of the Society of Jesus, and curator of the Avery, Cardinal Dulles Archives. The talk will take place in Grewen Auditorium on the Le Moyne campus.

Father McCoog is the author and editor of many books and articles on Elizabethan and Jacobean Jesuits. He divides his time between Rome, where he is director of the publications of the Jesuit Historical Institute, and London, where he is archivist of the British Province of the Society of Jesus. He has published widely on the history of the Society of Jesus in early modem Britain and Ireland. Currently, he is completing a monograph on the history of the Jesuits in the three kingdoms from the Armada (1588) to the death of Elizabeth (1603).

This event is one of a series of events highlighting St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in anticipation of the unveiling of an original statue of St. Ignatius on Le Moyne's campus. Sponsored by the Office of Mission & Identity and the History Department at Le Moyne College, the event is free and open to the public.
