Registration Now Open for Le Moyne Summer Arts Institute

Le Moyne College’s Department of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) and Department of Communication and Film Studies are now accepting applications for the summer 2014 Le Moyne College Summer Arts Institute. This year, in addition to programs for youth in visual arts, film, theatre, strings, and musical theatre, the Institute will be expanding its strings program to include a half-day beginning violin class for students entering grades 1-3.

The 2014 Institute kicks off on July 7 with a one-week visual arts camp (running from July 7 to 11) and two-week programs in film and theatre (both July 7 to 18). These will be followed on July 21 to 25 by a one-week strings intensive for students who play violin, viola, cello, and bass, along with the new half-day beginning violin class. The summer programs will wrap up July 28 to Aug. 1 with a one-week musical theatre camp for high school students. Youth may choose to attend one or multiple camps. An optional extended day is available until 5:30 p.m. for all full-day programs.

The Institute is pleased to be partnering once again with the strings program at H.W. Smith School, part of the Syracuse City School District, to offer scholarship opportunities for promising students from that school.

Information and application materials are available by calling the College at 315-445-4230 or visiting www.lemoyne.edu/summerinstitute
