Le Moyne Hosts Talk on Revolutionary Era Sullivan-Clinton Campaign

<p>SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College will host a lecture by Robert Spiegelman on Monday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m. in Grewen Auditorium on “New York’s Missing Link: The Sullivan-Clinton Campaign, Then and Now.”<br /> <br /> Sociologist and writer Robert Spiegelman will offer his unique insight into the Sullivan-Clinton campaign of the American Revolution, during which most Iroquois were uprooted from their homelands to make way for the Erie Canal and westward expansion. He will address the campaign’s impact on native culture, the land and today's environment. Spiegelman holds a doctorate in sociology from CUNY Graduate Center.<br /> <br /> The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the New York Council for the Humanities, a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, the <br /> Le Moyne Lecture Committee, the O’Connell professorship and the Le Moyne department of history.
