Le Moyne College Students and Staff Remember Virginia Tech Tragedy

<p>SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … The Le Moyne College community will gather on Sunday evening to remember the tragic events of last Monday at Virginia Tech.<br /> <br /> A mass will be held on Sunday, April 22, at 7 p.m., concelebrated by Charles J. Beirne, S.J., president of the College, and Lou Sogliuzzo, S.J., director of campus ministry. Dr. Jennifer Glancy, professor of religious studies, will deliver the homily. The names of those who lost their lives will be read.<br /> <br /> At 9 p.m., a candlelight walk will take place, beginning at the Panasci Family Chapel and ending at Grewen Hall on the quad. Rob Weitzman, president of the student senate, will speak. <br /> <br /> Plans are underway to plant a dogwood tree, the state tree of Virginia, on the campus in commemoration of those lost in the tragedy.<br /> <br /> In connection with the event, students are preparing posters highlighting the lives of those who died. Those will be on display in the hallway of the Panasci Family Chapel beginning Sunday afternoon.
