Le Moyne College to Host Talk on Self Esteem

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College will host a talk by Mike Maurer titled “Self Esteem – Essence – Being” on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 8 p.m. in Grewen Auditorium.

Psychological, philosophical, spiritual?  All or some? And what are the past, present, and future implications of this age-old discussion?

Mike Maurer, a 1971 Le Moyne alum, local therapist and inspirational public speaker, will discuss some of the theoretical and practical aspects of this important topic. This evening’s presentation will be of interest to students, parents, educators and other professionals, and anyone who has a desire to understand “self esteem” at a deeper level.

Maurer is a clinical social worker in private practice.  He has worked in the fields of mental health and human services for the past 36 years.  He served as director of clinical services for Child and Family Services of Syracuse, New York, and has co-hosted the radio talk show program, “Teen Talk,” heard on Sunday evenings on 107.9 for the past 23 years.  Maurer lectures frequently in the areas of mental health and wellness. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Alabama Graduate School of Social Work.

The lecture is free and open to the public.
