Le Moyne College to Host Panel on Politics and the Environment
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For immediate release) Even as our nation wrestles with a tremendous set of economic challenges, we are presented with an extraordinary opportunity to invest in green technologies and industries that will help to preserve our planet’s valuable resources and create jobs.
Join a panel of local elected officials (or their designees) at Le Moyne College on Wednesday, March 18, at 6 p.m. for a discussion about the potential for the creation of green jobs in the region, environmental initiatives and programs currently underway and those they wish to pursue, and how the College can help to support them in reaching a common goal of a more sustainable community. This event will take place in Grewen Auditorium on the Le Moyne College campus.
Scheduled to attend are: Van Robinson, member of the Syracuse Common Council; DeWitt Town Supervisor Edward M. Michalenko; Susan Miller from the Onondaga County Executive’s office; Chris Stewart, representing state Assemblywoman Joan Christensen; and Neil Wakeman, legislative aid to state Assemblyman Al Stirpe.
This panel is part of Focus the Nation at Le Moyne College, a week dedicated to raising awareness about human impact on the environment and to promoting sound ecological practices. Click here for more information about all events taking place during Focus the Nation Week.
