Le Moyne College Hosts Reading by Phil LaMarche
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Phil LaMarche will read from his novel, “American Youth,” and some of his other works at Le Moyne College on Thursday, April 2, at 5:30 p.m. The reading will take place in the Reilley Room, located in Reilly Hall.
Phil LaMarche was a writing fellow in the Syracuse University Graduate Creative Writing Program and was awarded the Ivan Klima Fellowship in Fiction in Prague. “American Youth,” his first novel, was published by Random House in April 2007 along with seven other foreign language translations. His work has appeared in Esquire, The London Telegraph, Ninth Letter, and other journals. His short fiction has been included in the “2005 Robert Olen Butler Prize Stories” and “Four Letter Word” anthologies and his story "In the Tradition of My Family” has been made into a film by orLater Productions. He teaches creative writing at Syracuse University and lives with his wife in upstate New York.
The reading is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the creative writing program and the lecture committee. This event was funded in part by Poets & Writers, Inc., with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency.
