Two From Le Moyne Honored at CFO Luncheon
Le Moyne's Vice President for Finance and Administration, Roger Stackpoole, was the first runner-up in the non-profit category at the second annual CFO of the Year Awards presented Thursday, May 28, at the Convention Center at Oncenter. posted on: 5/29/2009
Lauren Ziemann, a member of Le Moyne's class of 2009, was named as the Future CFO Superstar. She will begin her career in the fall at the East Syracuse accounting firm of Firley, Moran, Freer & Eassa.
A 1986 Le Moyne graduate, Stackpoole has been in his current position at the College since 2007. Prior to coming to Le Moyne, he served as assistant treasurer and controller at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He has also served in financial positions at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, St. Lawrence University, and Colgate University, and began his career as the supervising senior in-charge accountant at the Syracuse office of KPMG Peat Marwick. In 2008, he was named chair of the program committee for the Northeast Region of the Eastern Association of College and University Business Officers.
He was one of three finalists in the non-profit category. The winner was Kimberly Boynton, from Crouse Hospital. Finalists were selected from dozens of nominations submitted for the award.
This year's competition was sponsored by the Bonadio Group, in conjunction with CR Fletcher Associates, Harris Beach, NBC3, 570 WSYR Radio, and the Central New York Business Journal.
