Le Moyne College Hosts Session on Iraqi Refugee Resettlement in Syracuse
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College will host a conversation about the experiences of Iraqi refugees who have resettled in the Syracuse area with the help of Northside CYO, a neighborhood center of Catholic Charities of Onondaga County, on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m. in the Panasci Family Chapel.
Panelists will include: Felicia Castricone, director of Nothside CYO; Samer Shawqi, a banker from Baghdad who recently moved to Syracuse from Iraq; and Catherine Garrone ’10, a psychology major at Le Moyne who has worked at CYO helping refugee children who have resettled locally.
The event is part of the “Welcoming the Stranger” lecture series, developed by Le Moyne College Campus Ministry and the Iraqi Reparations Group in the Syracuse community.
