Le Moyne College Named to Kiplinger’s Best Values List

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … For the first time, Le Moyne College has been named to the top 100 list by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance of the best values in private institutions. The rankings list private liberal arts colleges and universities that deliver a high-quality education at an affordable price. Le Moyne is listed at number 98 on the Universities list.

“This recognition is an important affirmation of the value and quality of a Le Moyne education,” said President Fred Pestello, Ph.D. “It reflects the success of the efforts of the dedicated faculty and staff of our Jesuit College, who provide a rigorous yet supportive, student-centered education throughout our vibrant campus, while ensuring that a Le Moyne education remains accessible for students from all backgrounds.”

Kiplinger’s rankings measure academic quality and affordability, with quality accounting for two-thirds of the total. The publication started with data on more than 600 private institutions provided by Peterson’s, then added its own reporting. To determine each category, they used the Carnegie classification system, which organizes institutions based on the highest level and number of degrees offered.

The annual Kiplinger 100 rankings appear in the December 2010 issue of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine, which will appear on newsstands on Nov. 9.
