Le Moyne College Hosts Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College will commemorate Black History Month with a celebration of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Thursday, Feb. 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the Panasci Family Chapel. Guest speaker will be Dr. James H. Evans Jr., the Robert K. Davies Professor of Systematic Theology at Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School. The title of his talk is “The Spiritual Life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.”

Evans holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Michigan, a master’s degree in divinity from Yale University and a master’s degree and doctorate from Union Theological Seminary. He is the author of several works, including “We Have Been Believers: An African American Systematic Theology;” “Black Theology: A Critical Assessment and Annotated Bibliography;” and “Spiritual Empowerment in Afro-American Literature.”
