Le Moyne College Chamber Orchestra to Donate Concert Proceeds to SSO

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … On Thursday, March 3, at 7:30 p.m., the Le Moyne College Chamber Orchestra will present BRITISH INVASION, featuring full orchestra treatments of music originally performed by Queen, Led Zeppelin, and many more. All proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra toward their “Keep the Music Playing” campaign.

Held at St. Lucy’s Church (432 Gifford Street, Syracuse), the concert will be presented in partnership with the Westside Seeds for the Arts and will feature students associated with that organization alongside the 30-member chamber orchestra.

Led by Travis Newton, the LCCO will present a medley of Queen’s greatest hits, including “We Will Rock You,” “Another One Bites the Dust,” and “We Are the Champions.” Concert fare will also include a string orchestra version of Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” and a world premiere by guest composer Daniel Felsenfeld, titled “All Tomorrow’s Parties.” Felsenfeld will be in attendance, and the chamber orchestra will also perform his arrangement of Elvis Costello’s “Crimes of Paris.”

Tickets are $15 for the general public, $10 for seniors, and free for all students and the Le Moyne community. Please call (315) 445-4523 for tickets and further information.
