Madden Institute at Le Moyne College Hosts Panel Discussion

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … The Madden Institute for Business Education at Le Moyne College will host a panel discussion, titled “FutureWork: Employment Trends for the 21st Century,” on Tuesday, March 29, at 6 p.m. The event will take place in Grewen Auditorium. The discussion will center on the outlook for the future workforce in a post-recession America.

Panelists include: Kevin Walling ’87, vice president and chief human resources officer of
Kennametal Inc.; Kevin Brogan ’78, human resources manager at Welch Allyn; and Donna McManmon, corporate vice president, learning and talent effectiveness, Lifetime Healthcare Companies. Renée Downey Hart, management division at Le Moyne, will moderate.

Kevin Walling joined Kennametal in February 2005. He previously served as vice president human resources – North America for Marconi Corporation and, prior to that, was vice president, human resources, for Acclaim Entertainment. He holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial relations from Le Moyne College.

Kevin Brogan has worked in the field of human resources for over 25 years. In his role as human resource manager at Welch Allyn, he provides generalist HR support to various functions including legal, finance, business development, information technology, quality assurance and regulatory affairs. Brogan previously served as vice president for human resources at Loretto, a provider of a range of long-term care services for the elderly in Central New York. In addition, he worked at Niagara Mohawk for 18 years, focusing on compensation administration and executive development/succession planning. He has served as an adjunct instructor at Le Moyne in the human resources program. Brogan holds a bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne in human resources and a master’s degree in business administration from Syracuse University.

In her role with Lifetime Healthcare Companies, Donna McManmon is responsible for leadership development, performance management, organizational development, talent management, board development, competency development and regulatory training for over 6,000 employees. She previously served as vice president of human resources, CNY region, for the company. During her tenure, she implemented a number of successful recruitment, retention, performance management and culture initiatives for which she received the Donlon Award for Best Practice in Family Workplace Policies and the Empire State Advantage Gold Award with distinction in strategy management. McManmon holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Siena College. She is a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) and is active in the Partnership for Nonprofit Enterprise Excellence.
