First Year Orientation

Congratulations on your admission to Le Moyne College - home of the Dolphins! We are thrilled that you have accepted the invitation to join our community and make Le Moyne College your home away from home. As new members of our community, students and families will be welcomed into our big 'Phin Family with open arms. This page is an introduction to all that awaits you at Le Moyne!

Elements of Orientation

Join us for the following programs to help you get ready for your educational journey. All new students will sign up to attend an online Summer Welcome and Advising Week session. While we hope that you take part in all that we are offering, the Summer Welcome, Advising Week, and Fall Arrival sessions are required for all new students.

Summer Welcome
May 1 - June 15
For Students & Families
Online

(Required) Join us for one of four Summer Welcome sessions on May 5 at 7 pm, May 16 at 5 pm, May 28 at 7 pm, and June 9 at 5 pm. These sessions last about one hour and are conducted via Zoom. During it, you’ll meet your class dean and learn how to prepare for orientation and your first semester at Le Moyne. Both students and families can participate so that everyone is in the loop. Make sure to attend so that you can plan ahead for summer. RSVP by May 15 using your Student Portal.

Advising Weeks
Weeks of June 17 & 24
for students only
online

(Required) Sign up for an Advising Week session to discuss your major and get access to a draft of your fall courses. These group meetings held on Zoom will provide you and fellow students with an opportunity to talk with a faculty member representing your major. (Undeclared students will meet with trained advisors in the Student Success Center.) Schedule changes will still occur throughout the summer, but this sneak peak can be really helpful. RSVP by May 15 using your Student Portal.

Life at Le Moyne
July – August
for students & families
Online

(optional) Join us for engaging conversations to learn about life at Le Moyne and what resources are available. These Zoom webinars will take place throughout July and August. Topics include Anticipating Academics (July 9), Finding your Fit (July 18), Prioritizing your Wellbeing (July 24), and Navigating your Finances (August 1). Following each session, recordings will be available. RSVP using your Student Portal.

Heading to The Heights
July 12 or July 29
for students & families
on campus

(Optional) Do you want even more information about Le Moyne? Students and families are strongly encouraged to attend Heading to the Heights on July 12 and July 29. These day-long visits to campus are a great way for students and families to settle in even more. Hear about academics and getting involved while you get your questions answered. RSVP using your Student Portal.

Move In
August 21
for students & families
on campus

(Optional) Moving onto campus may make you excited and a bit nervous. We understand so we have set aside a whole day for this. New students will move onto campus on Wednesday, August 21. We offer a centralized check-in process so you’ll get your orientation materials and key at the College’s Event Center. You’ll then drive over to your residence hall as your belongings get carried to your room by Le Moyne’s move crew. This squad of resident advisors and orientation leaders will cheer you on as you get settled in.

Fall Arrival
August 22-24
for students only
on campus

(Required) As a member of the Class of ’28, you’ll participate in Le Moyne’s three-day orientation program. Designed to support both commuting and residential students, you’ll gather with classmates for programming that will help you start the semester strong. During Fall Arrival, you get to meet your academic advisor and your COR 100 instructor and engage in activities that showcase resources and support services. We will end our orientation program festivities by celebrating the start of the new school year!
