US Tax Specialist - BNY Mellon/Syracuse, NY
BNY Mellon is seeking qualified candidates for the position of US Tax Specialist, with an available start date of May/June 2012. Responsibilities include processing and posting various types of items to record keeping systems, as well reconciling items to cash positions, and support functions to the operating unit as a whole. A successful candidate will process tax withholdings on US securities for an assigned range of accounts. This includes the validation of tax forms, account setup, correspondence with internal business groups, and account reconciliations. Also, understand documentation requirements and ensure that client-level documentation is solicited in a timely fashion to protect against liability.
Qualifications: A BA/BS degree ( Accounting or Finance concentration preferred) or the equivalent of 1-2 years of industry experience. Knowledge of tax with the desire to learn IRS regulations
