Master of Business Administration

The MBA director reviews all applications for matriculation. Each applicant's intellectual abilities, needs, leadership qualities and ability to complete the program are taken into account in the matriculation decision. Among other things, applicants will be assessed according to the following criteria:

  • All applicants must possess a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher learning. Transcripts should demonstrate the attainment of an overall grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale). Those who do not meet this requirement may be admitted on a non-matriculated basis for up to six credits (two courses).
  • Applicants must attain a satisfactory score on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). Typically the applicant is expected to achieve a minimum of 450 on the GMAT (the test is normed at 500 for the 50th percentile). The MBA office has information on review courses and other ways of helping applicants through the GMAT process. We are now accepting the GRE exam in place of the GMAT.
  • Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation from professional colleagues, preferably one of whom can speak to the applicant's academic abilities and the other to professional abilities as evidence of ability to succeed in graduate management education.
  • Also helpful is a resume of relevant work experience, education and other achievements and evidence of professional and managerial growth and potential.
  • International applicants must also submit their test results from TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). A score of at least 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) or 79 (Internet-based) is required for admittance.

MBA Payment Options

Student Tuition Deferral
Students who intend to personally pay for MBA courses must now enroll in this payment plan online at webadvisor.lemoyne.edu  and follow the step-by-step directions under "Enroll in a Payment Plan." The Student Tuition Deferral form will no longer be accepted to defer tuition. A $25 late fee will be assessed if tuition is not paid by the due date.

If a student must withdraw from a course, he or she must contact the MBA office and sign a Drop Form. The tuition refund policy, which is published on the current semester course schedule, will be followed.

Financial aid for the MBA student can take one of the following forms:

  1. Employer Remitted Tuition. Many local employers provide some sort of tuition remission. Requirements vary among employers for this benefit. For whatever amount an employer remits, Le Moyne will defer 100% of tuition to 45 days after a course grade has been issued to the student. If tuition is not paid by the due date, a $25 late fee will be assessed. Contact the MBA office for the Employer Tuition Deferral form, or download it here.

  2. Federal Stafford Loan. To qualify for FFELP (Federal Family Education Loan Program), the student must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident enrolled for a minimum of six credits (two three-credit courses) in a given semester. Eligibility is based on information determined from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Loans are subject to provisions and terms from participating lenders after verification of enrollment by the College. Matriculated graduate students are eligible for up to $20,500 in an unsubsidized federal loan, per year. Non-matriculated students are eligible for $10,500($5,500 subsidized, $5000 unsubsidized) for one academic year while working toward matriculation. Contact the Le Moyne financial aid office at (315) 445-4400 for information and applications.

  3. Veterans Administration. Veterans and children of deceased or service-connected disabled veterans may be eligible for financial aid. Contact the regional Veterans Administration Office for information.

  4. Graduate Management Admissions Council. Students may also qualify for deferred loans through the Graduate Management Admissions Council. Refer to www.GMAC.com for application and information.

  5. Madden Scholarships. Matriculated students may receive funding to cover the cost of one course per semester. A limited number of scholarships are awarded based on financial need and performance in the program. Application deadlines are July 30 for the fall semester and December 15 for the spring semester. Applications are available through the MBA office.
