The Trial of Susan B. Anthony

Interested in the law? Concerned about civil rights? Human rights? Women’s rights? Love a good historical re-creation? Join Le Moyne College alumna US Magistrate Judge Thérèse Wiley Dancks '85, along with several other local attorneys (and alumni), as they stage a dramatic reading of Susan B. Anthony’s 1873 Trial, in which she was charged with violating laws that denied women the vote.

Judge Wiley Dancks will narrate the trial; Professor Julie Olin Ammentorp, Ph.D., of the Department of English will read the part of Susan B. Anthony, and James Synder, J.D., of the Department of Political Science will read the part of the judge who blocks her path to full citizenship. (But don’t hold that agains him!)
