10 Tips for Visiting a College Campus

Your campus visit experience may be one of the most influential factors in your college selection process. Following are 10 tips for making the most of your experience.

Always call ahead to ask about visit opportunities, including interviews, classroom or overnight visits and open houses.
If you’re unfamiliar with the area, request a copy of directions to campus.
Schedule an appointment for an interview. If you’d like to meet with a coach or professor, inform the Admission Office counselors so they can advise you in making those arrangements.
Dress appropriately but comfortably for your interview.
Research the college, and be prepared to ask questions of your own during the interview. Remember: You want to find out whether the college is a good fit for you.
Arrive on time.
Pick up campus literature during your visit – the college newspaper, college catalog or financial aid brochures, for instance.
Arrange to eat in one of the campus dining halls.
Take a student-led tour, and then explore the campus on your own. Ask your tour guide and other current students about their experiences.
Before leaving, take some time to explore the surrounding community.

Campus interviews will be available: 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, and 11:00 AM

A campus tour will be available: 10:00 AM
