Le Moyne’s Fall Arrival program for first-year residential and commuting students consists of four days, each one focused on one of Le Moyne's distinctive core values: Spirit, Inquiry, Leadership and Jesuit. You will receive a full description of your fall schedule of events when you attend Summer Welcome, but here is a brief idea of what you can expect in August when you arrive on campus:
- Day 1 – SPIRIT: Move in and computer set up, commuting student welcome, new student convocation, hellos and goodbyes
- Day 2 – INQUIRY: Introduction to academics, courses, schedules, common reading and your first advising seminar
- Day 3 – LEADERSHIP: Service projects, leadership games and team building
- Day 4 – JESUIT: Liturgy, brunch and celebration of the incoming class. Fireworks at dusk!
You will be welcomed and guided through Fall Arrival by upper division student members of the Orientation Committee, a carefully selected group of students who understand what it means to arrive at college for the first time. These students will be your go-tos for logistical questions or if you are unsure what to do at any point during the four days. The members of orientation committee are fun and hard-working, and they remember all the combined excitement and uneasiness of starting college. They love being a part of Le Moyne, and they want you to feel that way, too.
Every evening, the Orientation Committee will have great social events planned. These may range from game shows and films to fun athletic competitions and Syracuse trivia. The goal of each evening is to give you opportunities to relax and get to know your classmates.
