Dolphins delight in community
Le Moyne College has always been a special place, cherished by its warm and tight-knit community. We delight in the spirit of welcome. Dedicated first and foremost to students, all staff and faculty collaborate in a process of formation rooted in our Jesuit mission and heritage. This tradition emphasizes the care and education of the whole person. Working closely with each student as they discover the intersection between their gifts and the needs of the world, the Le Moyne community prepares students well for work, graduate school and professional careers of all kinds.
Le Moyne offers a rigorous intellectual environment that is intertwined with experiences that develop imagination, generosity and compassion. This rich interplay finds expression in countless ways: for example, in our many student-faculty research collaborations, in our exciting new Core curriculum and in the College's initiative on Science and Religion in Modern America led by Father George Coyne, S.J., the McDevitt Chair in Religious Philosophy, and by the McDevitt Center for Creativity and Innovation. Read more about this fascinating and timely series at this link.
Dolphins welcome change: from our sophisticated new LaCasse Dining Center (hear what students have to say about the fabulous new space here) to the bright, freshly renovated spaces of the Coyne Science Center. Yet we also esteem centuries-old Jesuit traditions, for example, promoting growth and learning through the fine and performing arts. Our many cultural events are open to the wider community. Please check the schedule on our home page to learn more about these events.
Our ever-widening community finds nourishment in returning to the Heights for both formal and informal encounters, for events ranging from Reunion through Orientation. Please join us! To all who have not yet visited the Heights, I extend a warm welcome. And to all Le Moyne Dolphins around the globe, I know that you already deeply appreciate this beloved College. When you return, you will still find the gracious campus of your memories, but one which is also bursting with continued intellectual energy and spirit. I look forward to our conversations both here on the Heights, and at upcoming alumni events.
Sincerely,
Fred P. Pestello, Ph.D.
