Throughout the year, Le Moyne College will recognize secondary school partners who are deeply committed to improving educational opportunities for the students they serve. These “heroes,” along with their guidance counselor colleagues, work as tireless advocates to create solutions that provide their students with a chance at a first-class education.
Debbie Holden works as a counselor at Nottingham High School in Syracuse. She holds a masters and certificate of advanced study in counseling and guidance and has been at Nottingham since 2005.
“The students are an inspiration to me, and their stories of resiliency, compassion, and success are treasures I will have for the rest of my life,” said Holden, who worked for a number of years at the middle and high school levels within the Syracuse City School District before moving to Nottingham. “To be able to guide and work with such a diverse population of students is an honor. They are a true family who support each other now and forever.”
Congratulations Debbie! The passion you demonstrate every day is truly inspirational. Keep up the good work!
