Communications Students Travel to the Big Apple

ImageThis post was written by Valerie Proano, sophomore Communications student.  She was part of a group of Le Moyne College students who traveled to New York City with Professor Ann Allen and Professor Leslie Streissguth. Although a native of Queens, Valarie was not prepared for the range of experience the group had that day:

"Now being that I am from Queens, I was so excited to be going back home for the day, but I did not expect to see or experience new things since I have lived in the city my whole life. So going into the trip, I just figured it would be a nice break from classes, but I was certainly wrong to say the least! Our trip consisted of two stops, Yankee Stadium in the Bronx and then we ventured over into Manhattan and we visited Madison Square Garden."

Following 100 Nights Till Graduation, senior Caitlin McGuire reflects about her experiences at Le Moyne College that have shaped her four years here. 

"Last week was 100 Nights Until Graduation. This night is customarily marked by a fancy dinner and lively dance for all of the seniors, in spite of the bitter and blustery winter!  All around me my roommates were modeling dresses, trying on shoes, and complaining about their hair as we prepared for the night that officially marks the double digit countdown to the g-word (cringe)….graduation! "

Caitlin McGuire is a senior at Le Moyne. She likes telling stories using grand hand gestures, community service, Spanish, hot sauce, and music!

She confesses a typical day for her usually involves hitting snooze buttons multiple times, running from class to work to class, inevitably spilling food on herself, and laughing a lot.
