Borrowing privileges are extended to the public and alumni, who are designated as special patrons for borrowing purposes. Alumni and the general public must present a special patron card to check out Library materials. This card may be obtained by filling out a special patron application and presenting two forms of identification, one of which must be a picture ID. In addition, a parent or guardian must sign the application for patrons under the age of 18. The card will be issued immediately to the patron. ID cards must be presented for any circulation transaction.

Books may be checked out by special patrons for a period of three weeks. Media collections have been developed primarily to serve the curriculum; therefore, priority for use is given to Le Moyne students and faculty in support of class assignments. The viewing of videos is restricted to Le Moyne students and employees. Periodicals are very heavily used, and therefore must be read in the Library.
