    Le Moyne Readies for 68th Commencement Weekend; Record Number of Students Eligible

    More than 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to process at two commencement ceremonies that will take place at Le Moyne College the weekend of May 18 to 20. For both student populations, the number who can participate in the ceremonies are the largest in the College's history.

    The weekend will begin with the Graduate Commencement, set for Friday, May 18 at 7 p.m. in the Henninger Athletic Center on the Le Moyne campus. A total of 313 individuals are eligible to receive their masters at the ceremony. Diplomas will be given for the following programs: Master in Physician Assistant Studies, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Education, Master of Science for Teachers, Master in Information System, Master in Taxation, Master in Arts Administration, Master of Science in Nursing, Master of Occupational Therapy and Certificate of Advanced Study. The speaker for the ceremony will be Erin Morrissey, a graduate from the Occupational Therapy Program.

    On Sunday, May 20 at the Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony, 745 students are eligible to participate, with 232 receiving a Bachelor of Arts and 513 receiving a Bachelor of Science. The commencement speaker will be literacy pioneer Ruth Johnson Colvin, a member of the National Women’s Hall of Fame,  recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and, at 101, believed to be the oldest commencement speaker ever at any college or university in the United States. Colvin will receive an honorary degree, as will two other individuals – Oren Lyons, an activist for indigenous and environmental justice, and Sean Kirst, an award-winning journalist and author.     For those unable to make it to campus this commencement weekend, the College will have live streaming video for both the graduate ceremony on Friday, May 18 at 7 p.m. and the undergraduate ceremony at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 20. This is the first year that the graduate ceremony has streamed live.

    To watch the ceremonies live, go to the main commencement page. From there, click on the “Tune In” button under the Watch Live text on the right side of the page. The grad ceremony should be live a few minutes before 7 p.m., while the undergrad ceremony will be live shortly before the student procession begins at 9:10 a.m.
