College Garners Two Awards from Jesuit Advancement Administrators

Le Moyne was the only Jesuit institution among the 28 in the U.S. to win the top prize in two categories as part of the Jesuit Advancement Administrators competition. Winners will be recognized at the JAA conference at Marquette University in July.

Winning first place in the Special Events Category was the 2014 Founders’ Day Gala, which is run by the Division of Institutional Advancement. The most prestigious event held at the College, the 2014 gala honored the College's first graduating class, the Class of 1951, as a celebration of past, present and future. Twenty-three members of the class were in attendance at the event and took part in the presentation of the Simon Le Moyne Award, the highest honor bestowed by the College. Beyond recognizing the award recipients, the event raised $161,000, which was designated for Le Moyne scholarships and financial aid. Winning the first place award in the Electronic-Digital-Social Media Category was the video "The Search: What It Means to Be Jesuit," which was created as part of the College's first-year student orientation experience. The entire video was shot as if it were a social media/online experience for the viewer, utilizing a variety of platforms, references and scenarios. The four minute video tells the story of St. Ignatius and the founding of the Society of Jesus in an engaging and interesting way. In addition to its original purpose, the College has used the video for a number of other audiences. Watch the video here.
