Le Moyne Names David McCallum S.J. to Vice Presidential Role

David McCallum S.J. has been named to the newly created position of vice president for mission integration and development. He had previously served as special assistant to the president for mission integration and development.

In this role, Father McCallum will assist the enrollment management team as an important liaison with Jesuit and Catholic prep schools in metropolitan New York and Western New York. His efforts will be critical as the College works to solidify relationships with these schools and their communities.

As vice president, another focus will be to deepen his ongoing work with Le Moyne's advancement team by taking over the responsibility for managing existing and developing relationships with the College’s alumni and friends.

He will also continue his work to deepen and integrate the Jesuit mission into all aspects of the Le Moyne experience, for the benefit of both students and members of the campus community. A key component of these efforts is the Institutional Examen the College is currently engaged in. He will also continue to support the Society of Jesus as he leads efforts for leadership formation internationally.

Following graduation in 1990 from Le Moyne College with a B.A. in English and Integral Honors, Fr. McCallum’s education for ordination included a M.A. in philosophy from Fordham University, and both an M.Div. and a Licentiate degree in theology from the Weston Jesuit School of Theology in Cambridge, Mass. His license in theology explored the connections between adult developmental psychology and Jesuit spirituality.

Ordained in 2001, Fr. McCallum has provided hundreds of workshops and retreats, as well as spiritual direction and supervision for spiritual directors. In 2008, he completed his doctorate in Adult Learning and Leadership at Columbia University, Teachers College on the implications of adult developmental maturation for leadership capacity.

Beginning in the fall of 2009, Father McCallum served as the special assistant to the president, as well as teaching leadership in the Management Division (now the Madden School of Business). In 2011, he became Le Moyne’s first director of Mission & Identity, and from the fall of 2012 until the spring of 2014, he served as the interim dean of the Madden School.
