STEP Summer Programming

Opportunities are available for every STEP student to participate in planned activities on the Le Moyne College campus during the summer. The program varies each year but usually includes a 3-4 week science and technology-related summer program, as well as a variety of college visits and SAT preparation activities.

Summer 2008

Week 1: July 7-July 11 English and Environmental Science

Week 2: July 14-July 18 Math and Health/Medicine

“Get Real- Problems of the 21 st Century” What are some math solutions for real life problems?

Week 3: July 21-July 25 Rocket Launching and STEM Careers

“Rocket Physics” This is your chance to be a rocket scientist!
“STEM” Learn about what it takes to have careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math!

Week 4: July 28-August 1 Research and Robots

“iResearch” Becoming a true investigator…
“Robot Programming” Use computers to teach your robot how to think!

Week 5: August 4-August 8 SAT Boot Camp (Critical Reading and Math)

“How to Succeed in SAT Math” Learn strategies and skills needed to conquer the SAT Math section!
“Boost Your SAT Reading Score” Learn how to score higher on the SAT Critical Reading section!
