    You've Been Accepted!

Hello all, I’m excited to share with you that over break I achieved one of my long-term goals. For those of you who did not see my previous post, I am a senior Biology major hoping to attend medical school in the fall. Like you guys, I spent the past semester sending in applications, interviewing, and anxiously waiting for a response. Shortly after new years I received notification that I was accepted! I want to share with you the astonishing way the Le Moyne community responded to my acceptance. After receiving notification one of the first things I did was head to Le Moyne to let some of my biggest supporters know. I had the pleasure of running into Dr. LeMura, our President, who has been one of my biggest supporters through this process (which is where the picture comes from). News spreads fast on our small campus and soon enough I was getting e-mails of congratulations from just about every office on campus. Dr. Cady-Melzer, our Vice President for Student Development, was in a meeting with the Deans and Vice Presidents at the time she found out and called me to personally congratulate me. I think this experience really does highlight the Le Moyne difference. This is a place which is not afraid to recognize achievement, and one which celebrates students successes. I felt extremely humbled by this outpouring of responses. This success was one I have to, in some part, share with the Le Moyne community. Throughout my four years here I have grown immensely. Not only have I gained the technical skills I need to be a competent physician and scientist, but I have also developed a wealth of new perspectives. I have no doubt that these new ideas will help me to eventually lead a team of health care professionals to care for those who are in need. Until next time!
