CNBC correspondent Charles Gasparino presented the Madden Lecture Nov. 12, titled “The Sellout: How Three Decades of Wall Street Greed and Government Mismanagement Destroyed the Global Financial System,” based on his recent book about the collapse of Bear Stearns. Gasparino appears as a daily member of CNBC's ensemble, breaking some of the biggest stories affecting the financial markets in recent months. He is also a columnist for Trader Monthly Magazine, and a freelance writer for New York Magazine, Forbes and other publications. Before joining CNBC, Charles Gasparino was a senior writer at Newsweek magazine. In addition, he covered some of the biggest financial scandals of recent times for The Wall Street Journal. Gasparino was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in beat reporting in 2002 and won the New York Press Club award for best continuing coverage of the Wall Street research scandals.
