The Journal of the Academy
of Business Administration will be published by photographic reproduction
using fine, white paper, size 8.5” by 11”. You may use WordPerfect
or MS Word and a laser printer. Please send one copy of your paper protected
by two pieces of cardboard and a computer diskette (3.5”) containing
your file. On the disk, write the paper title and the names of all authors.
On the outside of the envelope, indicate that a computer disk is enclosed.
Note that the computer disk will not be returned. It is essential that
you comply with these instructions because we print from disk. Articles
which fail to meet the specifications will be returned to the author and
risk not being published or at the very least, delaying the publication
schedule
Before any typing is done,
you need to format the paper in the following manner. The following information
gives precise instructions.
Times New Roman (Scalable)Point Size: 10 This is an example of the font
used for publication of your paper. Please adhere to the instructions
when formatting your paper and producing your hard copy.
All paragraphs should be indented with a tab of five (5) spaces. You must leave a space after each paragraph. Set your margins as follows:
Single space the body of the
paper. Double space before and after first-level and second-level headings.
Triple space between the title and before and after the author's name.
Do not type in page numbers;
lightly pencil in the numbers on the back of each page.
The title should be in all capital letters, bold-faced, and centered at the top of the first page. In WordPerfect, the size of this title can be changed using the font key. For our purposes, the title of the paper should be “EXTRA LARGE.” For example:
THE TITLE IS EXTRA LARGE
The author(s) and affiliation(s) should be centered, bold-faced, and single-spaced beginning on the third line below the title. Do not use titles such as Dr. or Assistant Professor, etc. The size of the name(s) should be “LARGE.” (12 point) For Example: Sam Fullerton, Eastern Michigan University If you have more than one author and all authors have the same affiliation, use the following format: Peter Barr
Begin the paper with an abstract
of approximately 100 words. The word ABSTRACT should be typed in all capital
letters, bold-faced, and centered on the third line following the author(s)
and affiliation(s). The size of the heading should be “VERY LARGE.
“ The text of the abstract should be in “ITALICS.”
First-level headings should be centered, bold-faced and in all capital letters. The size of the first-level headings is “VERY LARGE.” For example:
Second-level headings should be flush with the left margin, bold-faced, and in upper and lower case. The size of second-level headings is "LARGE" (font size 12). For example: Second-Level Headings Are Large
INTRODUCTION Curriculum is undoubtedly
one of the most scrutinized elements of business education today. Recent
initiatives by AACSB have created the need for business schools to assess
their course offerings. Topics such as globalization and business ethics
have surged to the forefront in the curriculum revision process, but there
is no clear consensus regarding the way such topics should be integrated
within a business program.
A key point to remember is
that there are two additional sections which must appear immediately prior
to the references. The Managerial Implications section and the Executive
Summary must be included. They are intended to provide a practical perspective
on each article and to provide the reader with a quick overview of your
research.
Tables, figures, and graphs
should be typed as close as possible to the location where they are cited.
Headings should be centered, bold-faced, and in all capital letters above
the table or figure. All tables must be in boxes and use CG times
10 point font. The size of the heading for each table or graph
should be “LARGE.” For Example:
Footnotes will not be used. References will appear at the end of the paper.
All references within the
text should be handled with the use of the last name and year of publication.
For example:
Barr (1995) discussed the role of ............
All equations should be placed
on separate lines and numbered consecutively, with the equation numbers
placed in parentheses and aligned against the left margin.
Since the bibliography should
include only those references cited in the text of the paper, this first-level
heading should be titled REFERENCES. REFERENCES should be centered in
all capitals above the list of references. The size of the heading is
“Very Large” (15 point). References should be listed in
alphabetical order and appear at the end of the paper. For example: REFERENCES Childress, Robert L., (1974) Mathematics for Managerial Decisions (Englewood Cliffs, NJ: Prentice-Hall, Inc). Pitts, James E. and William M. Whitaker, (1971) “The Impact of Tax Policy on Investment Behavior in the Chemical Industry, 1951-75,” Decision Sciences, vol. 2,-no. 1 (January), pp. 53-65.
REFERENCES MUST BE
INCLUDED; DO NOT TYPE AT THE END OF YOUR PAPER THAT "REFERENCES ARE
AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST."
Appendices should immediately follow the body of the paper and precede the references. The term, APPENDIX, should be centered in all capitals above the appended material. The size of the term, APPENDIX, should be “VERY LARGE.” If there is more than one appendix, they should be numbered consecutively.
All spelling, grammar, and punctuation are the responsibility of the author(s). No corrections will be made by the Journal Editors. Therefore, all articles must be edited prior to submission. Please submit your laser-printed
copy and computer disk to the editor. Please note that your disk will
not be returned. |
