Welcome to the Division of Arts & Sciences at Le Moyne College

We change the world one scholar at a
time |
The many majors, profesional programs and core curriculum found
within Arts & Sciences set the stage for a high quality educational
experience grounded in the Jesuit tradition. The axiom "Jesuit
tradition" is synonymous with educating the "whole person,"
that is, with growth in the intellectual, physical, emotional, and
social dimensions of your life.
The faculty in the Division of Arts and Sciences are committed
primarily to the enrichment of your intellect. This commitment is
exemplified by the rigorous study of great literature, math, natural
and social sciences, art, drama, philosophy, religious studies,
languages, history and music. The faculty in the Arts and Sciences
do not take lightly their charge to educate the whole person. Indeed,
the men and women who comprise our faculty have big plans for you;
they will nurture a love of learning that will last a lifetime!
The Le Moyne faculty are themselves passionate learners. They strive
continually to contribute to the disciplines in which they were
trained. Perhaps more importantly, their research energizes their
teaching, and hopefully, this in turn will get you excited about
your education.
You can expect our faculty to teach you how to think critically,
analyze and interpret data, and write and speak effectively. Your
professors in the Arts and Sciences will teach you to develop connections
between disciplines, and how to become an engaged, thoughtful citizen
of the global community. In short, we have great expectations for
you because a distinctive Jesuit education could never mean anything
less.
