The WFP is hiring interns for its offices in New York City, Long Island, Syracuse, Albany, Buffalo and Rochester. WFP interns will work closely with a lead organizer and the leadership of the chapter. Possible tasks include the following:
- Working on electoral campaigns, including strategic planning, fundraising, media and Get Out The Vote efforts
- Planning and implementing rallies and direct actions around specific issue campaigns
- Supporting the local membership recruitment and development efforts, including canvasses, direct mail and phone banks, house parties, and tabling at events.

Requirements:
A dedication to social, economic, and environmental justice, and a commitment to building a progressive political party; excellent writing and oral communications skills; and a willingness to work real hard. Previous organizing experience (on campus or elsewhere) is a plus.

Ten summer internships in the Nature Recreation Program will be filled for the 2008 season. These positions are located at campgrounds in the Adirondack and Catskill Forest Preserves. These are paid positions.

Locations: The Nature Recreation Program is offered at the following Forest Preserve Campgrounds

• Catskills -MongaupPond, North/South Lake. Living accommodations vary by campground, ranging from simple platform structures to rustic cabins.

The Experience: Interns will receive training and experience in nature interpretation, environmental awareness and recreational programming. The intern will participate in a three-day training/orientation program at the end of June, followed by a nine to ten week campground assignment. During this time the intern will work directly with an Environmental Educator and also have independent assignments. Programming experience will include the following type of activities:
• Nature/Interpretive walks and hikes. Group canoe trips and day hikes.
• Nature study, outdoor skills and environmental. Campfire programs, guest speakers and awareness. performers, audio-visual presentations, and evening programs.
• Children's programs, includingthe DEC's Junior Naturalist Program.
• Sports and recreation activities.

Personal Transportation Recommended: Rides to stores and personal services may be obtained by other means but may be limited by small staff size. Remote locations may result in a negative experience for participants with no transportation.

The purpose of the internship is to offer college-age students experience working in the various SICM programs. These programs directly serve residents primarily in the inner city of Schenectady. The internships enhance the experience of a student interested in pursuing a human services, social welfare, education or public health profession.

SICM summer interns are hired to work during the summer for 6 to 10 weeks. SICM interns work directly for and are supervised by SICM staff. Each position is paid for by a congregation, and placement for the positions is limited to those described below. All applicants should indicate their preference of job placement. SICM program staff will interview students and determine final placements of interns. New applicants are given first priority over returning applicants in preference of job placement; however, SICM strives to give all students a valuable intern experience. Job description includes rotational assignments through the EQUI-VEST Service Area with varying time elements. (Call Center, New Business and Inforce areas). At the end of assignment intern will have working knowledge of business and the AXA-Equitable experience of being the number one company for employees and clients. Job requirements include supervisory/team lead responsibilities based upon day-to-day work flow and people issues. Strong verbal with a strong work attitude combined with interpersonal skills. 3.2 overall GPA, 3.5 major requirement.
