- Congratulations to the class of 2007. Commencement is May 20, 2007.
- Welcome to Dr. Anna O'Brien, who will join the department as Assistant Professor of Chemistry in Fall 2007. Dr. O'Brien received her Ph.D. from Syracuse University, and she joins us most recently from a post-doctoral position at Colgate University.
- Dr. Beaty will end her term as department chair at the end of summer 2007. She guided the department through eventful years which included the merger of the departments of chemistry and physics and the hiring of three tenure-track faculty members, two in physics and one in chemistry.
- The chair's mantle will pass into the capable hands of Dr. Mullins in the fall.
- US National Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO) Exam. Le Moyne hosted the USNCO national exam again on Thursday, April 26. The USNCO exam is administered by the American Chemical Society (ACS) to high-achieving high-school students. Prof. Giunta runs this event for the local ACS education committee. The national exam followed a qualifying exam, a two-hour standardized test written by the ACS Exams Institute, held earlier in April at Le Moyne, G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton, and Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School.
- American Chemical Society (ACS) service
- Dr. Masingale was appointed to the International Committee of the ACS Division of Chemical Education.
