Procedures

Every January, the chapter representatives screen for students eligible to be invited to join Alpha Phi Sigma. The criteria are:

  • declared a major, minor or equivalent in a Criminal Justice or Law Field leading to a baccalaureate or graduate degree.
  • completed at least three full-time semesters or equivalent and at least four (4) of the courses must be in the Criminal Justice field.
  • a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 on 4.0 scale, as well as, a 3.2 average in Criminal Justice courses and are in the top 35% of their class.
  • These criteria are established by and consistent with those at the national chapter and all local chapters of Alpha Phi Sigma.

    Letters are mailed in mid-January with an RSVP date of January 31. If you meet these criteria and did not receive a letter by 1/31, see Dr. Chin.
