Welcome to Le Moyne College!  We are so glad you decided to join us.  We know you will contribute great things to our teaching-learning community.  This page features ideas and links specifically designed to help new faculty members, whether full-time or part-time, become acquainted with information that will aid you in your work here.    

1.  Teaching at Le Moyne College:  An Introduction for New Faculty.  The first Kevin G. O'Connell Distinquished Teaching Professor, John Langdon (History), worked with the chairs of the Humanities Departments to develop this manual for new full-time faculty,  While the manual was developed primarily for the humanities faculty, they are applicable to all departments and members of the faculty. 

2.  Teaching at Le Moyne College:  An Introduction for Adjunct Faculty.  This is a similar manual for adjunct faculty.

3.  Faculty Senate Committee on Research and Development.  The R & D committee provides grants, summer stipends, and courseload reductions to aid faculty in their research and teaching development efforts.  A review of the committee's website will provide a glimpse of the kinds of research and development efforts they fund.

4.  Student Learning Assessment Model.  Like every college and university, Le Moyne College takes student learning seriously.  The sub-committee of the Middles State Re-accreditation committee has developed a model that every faculty member should take seriously as they develop courses and think about student learning.  This MS Word document provides a detailed description of the model.  Other assessment tools and models can be found on the Assessment Ideas page.

5.   Resource Library.  This page provides a link to reviews of books on teaching and learning and lists the books that are currently housed in the Faculty Development resource library.  They are available in Reilly Hall 216 for loan.
