GABRIEL MARCEL Dec. 7, 1889 - Oct. 9, 1973

Gabriel Marcel, a world renowned French existentialist dramatist-philosopher, was born in Paris, Dec. 7, 1996, lived a long and richly creative life and died in Paris Oct. 9, 1973. He authored some 35 plays and an equal number of philosophic writings. He worked forty years as a drama critic, and was editor of collections for major publishers.
