Performance Assessment Process

Performance feedback and a yearly performance review optimizes individual performance and contribution. The process should take the form of ongoing conversations and coaching, is a shared responsibility between supervisors and individuals reporting to them. The following is schedule of dates and activities:

Activity

March and April Supervisors and their staff should schedule and conduct performance evaluations
Early April Supervisor should submit final written appraisals to the VPs/Deans
Mid-April Written performance appraisals due to Human Resources. The expectation is that all staff will have had the performance conversations and completed written documentation for each employee by this date. Keep in mind that each performance evaluation review must be signed by the employee, the supervisor and the VP/Dean prior to being submitted to Human Resources.

Performance Evaluation guidelines for administrators and staff are provided on the Human Resources website at http://lemoyne.edu/human_resources/policy.htm Annual performance evaluations are not required for the following:

  • Temporary Staff
  • Union Employees
  • New hires whose employees has been less than three months
  • Employees planning retirement in the next twelve months
