Personnel Policy Manual for Support Staff

SUBJECT: OPEN DOOR POLICY

POLICY STATEMENT:

Le Moyne College provides an effective and acceptable means for its employees to bring problems and complaints which concern their well being on the job to the attention of the administration. An open door policy has been established to give all employees an opportunity for complete and fair consideration of their cases with prompt and equitable solutions given by the administration.

IMPLEMENTATION:

1. All employees are encouraged to bring problems/concerns to their immediate supervisors for discussion in an attempt to resolve those problems/concerns.

2. If employees feel uncomfortable discussing the problem/concern with their department heads/supervisors, they may approach any other supervisor with whom they feel comfortable, up to and including the President.

3. The department head/supervisor who has been approached will review the problem/concern with everyone involved in an attempt to reach a satisfactory solution.

4. Problems/concerns which cannot be resolved to the satisfaction of all involved parties will be submitted to the President for a final determination.
