    Assistant Professor of Foreign Language

    Assistant Professor of Spanish: Le Moyne College, Central New York’s Jesuit institution of higher education, Syracuse, NY, announces a full time, tenure track position for an Assistant Professor of Spanish, pending final administrative and budgetary approval. Required area of specialization: XXth-XXIst Century Peninsular literature, with an emphasis on post-Civil War poetry. Research expertise on women poets of the time period strongly desired. Background in Spanish philology and foreign language teaching methodologies is also required. The successful candidate will show commitment to teaching proficiency-based language courses, as well as civilization and literature courses in the undergraduate curriculum. Native or near native fluency in Spanish is required.

    Ph.D. required at the time of application.

    Assistant Professor of Information Systems

    Le Moyne College, a Jesuit coeducational institution of 2800 undergraduate and 800 graduate students in Syracuse, New York, solicits applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Information Systems beginning September 2009, pending available funds. Entry level candidates must receive their Ph.D. by August 2009, and all candidates must present evidence of information technology research and teaching performance. Le Moyne will interview candidates at the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) in Toronto in August 2008, and at the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) in Paris in December 2008.

    We are primarily interested in a colleague with research and teaching interests in web-based technologies, electronic commerce, software engineering, and programming languages. A strong interest in undergraduate teaching at a liberal arts institution is essential.

    Assistant Professor of Political Science

    The Department of Political Science at Le Moyne College, Syracuse, NY, invites applications for a tenure-track position in political theory and political engagement at the rank of Assistant Professor pending final administrative and budgetary approval. Political Science is a five person department that stresses the teaching of citizenship, democracy, and community service, and seeks a colleague who will further this mission by developing and teaching innovative courses which integrate traditional political theory with themes of democracy and citizen participation. An ability to teach an introductory course in comparative politics and courses in politics and culture (e.g., art, theater, literature) is also desired.

    Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor of Nursing

    The Department of Nursing at Le Moyne College is pleased to announce the availability of a Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor position for the 2008-09 academic year. Responsibilities include teaching courses each semester at the undergraduate and/or graduate level in our RN-BS and MS programs in content areas such as health assessment, pathophysiology, family health, research, professional issues and trends, health promotion, and educator/administrator teaching roles. In addition, other negotiable functions will include assisting with advisement of students enrolled in our Dual Degree Partnership in Nursing (DDPN) program and serving on department committees. This position begins on August 25th for the start of the Fall 2008 semester.

    Applicants must hold RN licensure in New York State, possess a minimum of a Masters degree in Nursing and have experience in teaching and clinical practice.
