It’s all about transition! Enrich your first-year experience, meet students with similar interests, and make your move from high school to college easier by joining one of our first-year learning communities. Each year, we offer opportunities for first-years to share common living and learning experiences that enable them to get to know their instructors, advisor and fellow students quickly. While learning community enrollment is voluntary, it’s often a real benefit to our new students!

Which Community is right for you?
Our learning communities change from year to year based on student and faculty interest. Find out more about each of the learning communities we offer for the Class of 2012 by clicking on each of the links below:

BIO-LIFE: first-year students majoring in biology
BUSINESS: For first-year students majoring in a business discipline
CHOICE: For first-year students undecided on a major
CLAS ACT: For first-year students interested in a teaching career
LEAD (Leadership, Education, Action & Decision): For first-year students in any major, who are interested in service.
NURSING: For first-year students accepted to the Dual Degree Nursing Partnership: (Le Moyne College & St. Joseph’s College of Nursing)
PERFORMING ARTS: For first-year students in any major

Next Step?

1. When should you sign up to be in a learning community?

   Spaces are always limited. Capacity for each learning community is about 20 students. Once you decide to attend Le Moyne College, the best time to enroll is soon after you receive your Pre-orientation Packet. Updated information on each learning community will be in that packet and will also be available on-line.
   
   Join NO LATER THAN JUNE 1 to give yourself the best chance at being placed in the learning community of your choice. An added advantage: if you join a learning community, you won’t need to make a housing choice. Your housing will already be pre-selected and a place will be reserved for you.
