Job description:
|
Primary Tasks
Adhere to all library policies and procedures. Check in/out material
from the circulating and reserve collection including study rooms,
newspapers, laser disc, software and material w/software. Renew
material for patrons over the phone and in person provided the
materials are not overdue. Whenever there is a problem with a
patron (i.e., lost ID, ID not in system, patron blocked) find
Mr. Butcher or send them over to the Reference Desk. Transfer
telephone calls to library staffs voice mail or take a message
if asked. Collect fines for overdue material. Shelve material
in the pre-shelving area after checking it in. Shelf read the
reserve collections (i.e., books, videos and photocopies). Show
up for work at least 5 minutes before your shift or 10 minutes
if opening the library. Monitor the security system and respond
to the alarm.
Secondary Tasks
Cheerfully accept any tasks assigned by any library staff member.
When all assigned tasks are completed, ask if anyone has something
that needs to be done.

Willingness to work an established schedule including Dolphy
Day and finals week. Ability to maintain your focus on the task(s)
assigned with minimal supervision and less than an 8% error rate.
Skills necessary to do repetitive work on a daily basis. Previous
library experience not required but helpful.

system and respond to the alarm. Maintain an alert and vigilant
posture to be proactive in observing patrons as they enter and
leave the library. Assist the Circulation Student Assistant with

up for work at least 5 minutes before your shift.

from the pre-shelving area. Sensitize material, put in call number
order on a book truck and shelve material. While in the stacks,
shelve material left on the yellow shelves and in the study carrels.
Search for material which patrons can not find. Shelf read your
section by taking off a shelf of books, cleaning the shelf and
then placing the books in call number order on the shelf. While
in the stacks, pull and bring to the Circulation Desk all material
that is in need of repair (i.e., spine or cover coming off, part
of the book is coming out of the book, missing the cover, etc.).
Report for shift on time and ready to work.

Primary Tasks
Adhere to all library policies and procedures. Create and check
all 2nd overdue items for prices. Search book finder for items
without prices: if item not found multiply pages times 27 cents.
Add prices to items and run overdue notices. E-mail notices, print
copy and print those without E-mail, print copy also.
All materials dropped off for reserve must have a complete bibliographic
record and a reserve form. Scan in chapter, notes or articles
left by faculty for reserve. Create a bibliographic record for
the scanned material then link it to the bibliographic record.
Finally create or update the course then add the item to it.

Job description:

Primary Tasks
Adhere to all library policies and procedures. Select periodicals
for binding from the current periodicals with a green shelf label.
Check to see if there is a full volume, or complete month, quarter,
semi-annual issues for binding. If missing issues check the computer
to see what the status is. Select at least 40 journals each time.
We send shipments out twice a month, 5th and 20th, except in July
and December.
Fill out bindery slip with volume, months, number and year, and
date of shipment. Update computer to reflect what was sent with
status of to bindery. Fill up and stack boxes.
Upon receipt of bound journals, remove from boxes and put on
cart. Count and see if total matches invoice. Give reference materials
to Patty Mason in cataloging. Each bound journal is stamped with
"library use only", date stamped, stamped top &
bottom with "Noreen Reale Falcone Library", has a "periodical"
label put on the spine and has a barcode put on the inside top
back cover. Update the computer showing that the journal is bound
and create an item record.
