Library Instructional Laboratory

The Muserlian Instructional Lab is located near the Wilson Art Gallery on the first floor of the Noreen Reale Falcone Library. Its primary use is for the library instruction program. The Lab can also be scheduled for special meetings requiring hands-on computer use by academic and administrative departments and campus and community groups.

FACILITIES

The room can accommodate 47 people for hands-on instruction. There is a wheelchair-accessible workstation. There is audio-visual equipment available for use, as well as a white laminated marker board and markers. A modem port for laptop hook up is available at the instructor’s station. Laptops must first be examined by Information Technology prior to use.

AVAILABILTY/ACCESS

The Lab is available for walk-in use when a class is not scheduled; the room is not available when a class is scheduled or the room is reserved. Please note that the Instructional Lab will close one half-hour before the Library closes.

It is required that students have an active account on the Novell network for both lab use and classroom session.

All campus labs and clusters are limited to those with College Novell network login rights:

Alumni may gain access to the College’s Novell network with special permission from Reference Services staff, but may be asked to show proof of alumni status.

Special arrangements will be made to log on the computers for off-campus groups with reservations.

Special patrons wishing to use a computer must go to a public library.

RESERVATIONS

Call Media Services in the Library at 445-4329 to make reservations at least a week in advance. Faculty who wish to have a video or other audio-visual material shown may reserve the video by contacting Media Services. Please note that the Lab will close one half-hour before the Library closes.

When classes are in session, the room can be scheduled during the following hours (summer hours by special arrangement):

Mondays -- Thursdays	8:30 AM - 11:30 PM
Fridays	8:30 AM - 7:30 PM
Saturdays	9:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Sundays	Noon - 11:30 PM

The room may not be scheduled during classes for the same time period on a week-to-week or day-to-day basis because this type of scheduling would preclude use of the room for library instructional sessions.
