Academic Information for Transfer Students

Welcome to Le Moyne College! We understand that the transition you experience when transferring colleges may seem confusing at first. While you may have been quite familiar with the manner in which advisement and registration was handled at your previous institution, it might be quite different at Le Moyne. To help prepare you for your attendance at Le Moyne, we have put together this webpage.

First, we have provided you with detailed information about Le Moyne college’s advisement program. As a new student, you should review the information in order to understand how and when you will receive advising assistance. Although your advisor will assist you throughout this process, it is important to understand Le Moyne’s academic curriculum and plan a course of study that will satisfy the college guidelines.

Secondly, we want you to understand the importance of your transfer evaluation and other special topics, such as the core curriculum, honors program, or conditions of acceptance. Most likely, you have already met with or talked with a Le Moyne college admissions counselor, probably the transfer counselor. During your discussions with the counselor a transfer evaluation would have been prepared detailing your prior coursework and its Le Moyne equivalencies. It is very important that you review this evaluation to review its accuracy and understand its impact on your Le Moyne curriculum.

Text Box: Bring the completed Registration Worksheet to orientation so that you can discuss it with your advisor. Thirdly, as your first “assignment”, you should create a tentative fall schedule to bring with you to summer orientation by filling out the Registration Worksheet . You will find that your college catalog highlights typical 4-year curriculum for most majors. Review the schedule of your intended major and make note of courses you still need. You can also review the Course Availability webpage to determine which courses will be offered during the fall semester. During orientation, you will have a lengthy conversation with an advisor during which you will discuss your goals and career objectives and plan your actual fall schedule.

For your convenience, we have also included many frequently asked questions to assist with the registration process. If you have any additional questions, please contact the Registrar’s Office at 315-445-4456 or the Office of the Associate Dean at 315-445-4597. Once you are on campus, feel free to visit either office for more information. Your success is of the utmost importance to us and we are very willing to assist you throughout your college career
