Peter Lavine (Class of 2008) successfully defended his Philosophy Honors thesis, "William James: A Philosophy Fit to Live, " on Wednesday, April 16th.
The Philosophy Honors Ceremony was held Thursday, April 17th in the Drescher Community Room of the Panasci Chapel. Rochelle Bilow, Richard Cappotto, James Macris, Richelle Mazzeo, and Olesya Vernyi were inducted into Phi Sigma Tau. Also honored were
Kara Libordi, winner of the Philosophy Department / Phi Sigma Tau Essay Contest, and Peter Lavine, winner of the Leonard P. Markert Medal in Philosophy.
Prof. Thomas Brockelman was recently promoted to Professor of Philosophy.
Prof. William Day has been selected to participate in the 2008 National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Seminar “Traditions Into Dialogue: Confucianism and Contemporary Virtue Ethics.” More information at http://neh08.wesleyan.edu/index.html.
